Apple Strudel with cranberries

Preparation

1

Preheat oven. Peel apples and cut into thin slices, then mix with sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, rum and cranberries. Melt butter in a pan, add the apple pulp, sauté everything slightly, then put in a cold place.

2

Roll out puff pastry and cut off two strips lengthwise for decorating. Spread the apple filling in the middle of the pastry, brush water onto edge, then bring edges together to form strudel. Press the edges firmly together.

3

Arrange the two strips of pastry across the apple strudel snake-like. Coat with egg wash and bake in oven at 200°C  for approx. 25-30 minutes. To serve, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
